Taste of the Best Wine Extravaganza kicks off Super Bowl Weekend with memorable samples and celebrities

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Wine and Super Bowl enthusiasts can celebrate their passions with stellar vintages and pro football celebrities at the Taste of the Best Wine Extravaganza on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., at the elegant Chart House Restaurant, located at 1700 Harbor Blvd., in Weehawken, New Jersey.

“This will be a memorable evening for wine aficionados, as well as for those who want to sample and learn about outstanding wines,” said Dennis Bulluck, buyer and Senior Wine consultant for Wine Academy Superstores, which is hosting the event. “Everything will be perfect, from the exceptional pours and fine cuisine, to the music of renowned jazz bassist, Bob Cranshaw and his band.”

The wine and spirit tastings introduced by Bulluck feature offerings from Dom Pérignon, Numanthia, Joseph Phelps and other top-notch purveyors. In addition, VIP attendees can rub elbows with sports celebrities, such as the NFL’s Joe Klecko and Hall of Famer Chris Dolman, and engage in some pre-Super Bowl sports talk.

The event is a benefit for the Hope for Children Foundation, a non-profit that will receive 10 percent of the proceeds, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the silent auction.

Those who purchase a ticket before Dec. 31, 2013, not only will save $100 off of the admission price, they also will be placed into a special, early registrant pool drawing for a vacation stay at the Relax With Lifestyles resort in the Dominican Republic.

General admission events begin at 7 p.m., and features hors d’oeuvres and drinks, multiple wine stations, a carving station and a gift bag.

VIP admission begins at 6 p.m., and includes meetings and autographs with sports dignitaries, access to the VIP lounge, and a luxury gift bag. Reidel also will provide a brief presentation on fine china to the VIP group. There also will be an infused cigar station and pairing with spirits. Each VIP ticket holder also will receive a vintage bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne.

“Another unique aspect to this event is that guests will be able to purchase their chosen samples — most tastings do not offer this option,” Bulluck said.

The venue will suit the event as the four-star Chart House Weehawken provides a panoramic view of the New York skyline — from the Empire State Building to Wall Street. In addition, hotel rooms have been reserved for those wanting to rest before or after the event
